We are entering a fashion era that I would describe as 'digital avant-garde' or chic futurism mixed with a splash of early 2000 trends.
Some of the brands I have highlighted include Dior, Nike, Balmain, Matte Brand, Calvin Klein, Laquan Smith, Buffalo London, Danielle Guzio and Chanel.
We are entering a fashion era that I would describe as 'digital avant-garde' or chic futurism mixed with a splash of early 2000 trends. Definitely not EVERYTHING, but the resurgence of that decades trends includes and highlights accessories as a staple. AKA your outfit is not complete without a matching pair of sunglasses, purse, or both! Something I'm definitely not mad about. Along with that, we are bringing back the "sexy comfort" ideal from the 2000s too. Comfort.. but make it fashion.
Athleisure and street wear aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and bless your heart if you thought otherwise. Now that fashion brands, along with the help of social media influencers, have figured out how to get people to spend thousands of dollars on staple pieces and simple outfits, we have also entered the era of 'overpriced simplicity'.
Speaking of simplicity, this brings me to the makeup world. Complexion products are focusing on skin and making sure our foundation looks like a healthy, filtered/blurred version, and not an added layer on our faces -- another thing I'm so happy about. We love fresh, glowing, and healthy skin in this household!
I also think the theme of transparency, fluidity, and futurism developed from the use of perplex and mesh on clothing, which we were introduced to in 2018. Add on the use of reflective elements and boom -- what I expect to be a major trend in this new year.
Ultimately, this is the year of making sure that you are seen, whether other people want to or not 😂. So... are you ready?
